January 1, 2019, a new year for a new me.

As the new year begins, it's time to set a whole new list of resolutions. I'm sure I am not the only one who has struggled with resolutions in the past. In the previous years I've always set goals and stuck to them for a good two weeks and then fell off. This year WILL be different.

Since the start of my senior year, I have gained this newfound sense of motivation. It's only right that I bring this glowing quality with me into the new year. My motivation has prompted me to take action in my life. I have been inspired to fill out and send off 16 college applications before winter break and do a full blown New Year cleaning of my room. It has also inspired me to create my goals for 2019. Not only did I create my resolutions and goals, I also set up a plan on how to achieve them.

1. Better my relationship with God.

My religion is very important to me and it is very important to me that I prioritize God in my life. This year I will pray more, day and night. I will also live my life to be the young woman God created me to be.

2. Focus/work harder in school.

Senior year is the year to buckle down. I started off strong and I intend to finish off the same way. I will devote more time into my school work, even if that means spending some weekends at the library to get ahead on some of my work.

3. Read more books.

Ever since the age of five I've always loved to read, Unfortunately, as the school years went by and the specific readings were assigned the more reading seemed like work. I will designate personal time specifically for reading.

4. Work on my temper.

I wouldn't call myself a hot head, it actually takes a lot to get me mad, but when I am mad it isn't good for anyone. I can feel my blood turn hot and my face turn red from frustration, an then I sit there until I blow a fuse. In no way is this healthy for me or those around me. This year I will practice on my patience and take a second to think in calm down in a moment of heat.

5. Work on my fitness.

This one always seem to be on my list every year, I always start off good with my home workouts but they never last. This year I have a gym membership with the local YMCA. I have already set aside time for every Saturday to go to the gym. And since I'm cheering for the first quarter of the year it gives me the mandatory opportunity to get in shape from now until March.

I am fully committed to the better version of myself I am striving to be. I can't wait to see what God has in store for me in 2019. Have a happy New Year.
